When Shalina at All In The Detail Events brought me this brief, I knew it was going to be unlike anything I’d done before. The event was a pre-release celebration dinner for Maker’s Mark’s Star Hill Farm Whisky at Berry Bros. & Rudd on St James’s Street — one of the oldest wine and spirits merchants in the world. The brief: tell the story of the whisky through the flowers. Maker’s Mark has used soft red winter wheat as their signature flavouring grain since their first bourbon in 1953. I worked entirely in dried flowers and grasses, weaving intricate wheat baskets to hold the table arrangements, which ran the full centre of the table alongside tall taper candles. At one end, there was a mountain installation — a nod to the rolling hills of the Kentucky farm where the distillery has sat for over seventy years — which I framed with tall dried meadow grasses to hold the whisky bottles.
“These arrangements suited our brand to perfection bringing the inspiration behind our brand to life”
— Maker's MarkEvery event starts with a conversation.
I’d love to hear more about the event you’re planning.
